Lynn Storeshaw was the creator of Lynnspride Mastiffs. She was a big influence on us and taught us so many things which we will always be grateful for. Lynn passed away on May 28th, 2013 and will be missed dearly by her family & friends.
Lynn purchased her first Mastiff in 1978, and so began Lynnspride Mastiffs. We met Lynn and her husband Bill in 2005. Upon our first meeting it was abundantly clear that her life revolved around her dogs and that she loved every minute of it! She lived and breathed for her dogs.
Lynn enjoyed all types of animals and was a real down to earth “farm girl” at heart. One time she was telling me how she had raised sheep in the past and that she used to show them. Being originally from a big city I had never heard of such a thing and I found the idea of “showing sheep” exceptionally funny. It still makes me laugh to this day.
Ch. Superior Lynnspride Bilko “Sarge” was Lynn’s first big success in the show ring. During his show career Sarge was awarded three all breed Best in Show’s and many group placements in Canada with his handler Larry Clark and was the #1 Mastiff in Canada in 1999 and 2000. Lynn was also involved in other types of competition and earned a Draft Dog title and a Companion Dog Obedience title on her boy Max (Can & Int’l Ch. Seville’s Lynnspride Maxfli). We had a Max daughter named Rain, who passed away shortly before her 12th birthday.

Along came Winston in 2004. At the tender age of 8 months he made his debut in the ring at the Canadian Mastiff Club Specialty show, winning the puppy sweepstakes followed by Best of Breed at the all breed show and going on to earn a Group 4 and Best Puppy in Group. It was to be the first of many group placements which would make him the number one Mastiff three years running in 2007, 2008 and 2009. He finished off his show career by being awarded back to back Best in Show’s handled by Lynn and being the first Mastiff in Canada to earn a Grand Championship title. Multi BIS GCh. Lynnspride Cheadle Churchill, CGN. Winston had quite a run!
In addition to breeding and competing in various venues with her dogs Lynn also was one of the forming members of the Canadian Mastiff Club, held executive positions through the years and volunteered with rescue. Lynn was also a member of the Northern Alberta Canine Association and worked hard to pull together their annual 4 day all breed dog show. Lynn judged the sweepstakes at the Mastiff Club of America Specialty show in 2007 and judged the Canadian Mastiff National Specialty in Ontario in 2011. Lynn was actively pursuing her CKC all breed judging license and was a CGN evaluator. She judged across Canada and Internationally.
We are certainly grateful that we had the opportunity to know Lynn and for all that she generously shared with us over the years. It is because of the work of this remarkable woman we are able to have many lovely Lynnspride dogs in our home today. We will always remember her with much fondness...
