About Us

After being interested in the mastiff for many years the time was finally right and we adopted our first mastiff, Rain.  So began our journey into the world of the mastiff.

We soon discovered an appreciation and passion for the mastiff breed which has led us to competing as owner handlers in the show ring.  Our english mastiffs come from top ranked championship bloodlines within Canada and the US and are all registered with the Canadian and or American Kennel Club.

In 2010 we acquired three mastiffs from our good friend and retiring breeder Lynn Storeshaw of Lynnspride Mastiffs.  We are honored to have the opportunity to continue breeding her lines and ensure that her 30 years of dedication to the breed is carried on into the future.

We take a natural approach in the care of our dogs.  Our mastiffs are fed a raw diet, receive minimal vaccines and we avoid using chemicals and pesticides.  In addition to raising our dogs more naturally we also screen for genetic health conditions before breeding.  We feel these choices will greatly contribute to improved health and longevity in our dogs as well as any pups that we produce. 

We maintain membership with the Canadian Kennel Club, Canadian Mastiff Club, Mastiff Club of Western Canada, Natural Rearing Breeders Association and the Battle River Animal Protection Society.  We are active in the mastiff community including rescue efforts.

Our goals here at Tailcreek are to produce mastiffs that are healthy, have sound temperaments and exemplify the breed standard.  Our aim is that every generation will improve upon the previous generation.  We receive so much enjoyment from our mastiffs and hope we can bring that same enjoyment to others!
